My Puttin' On the Ritz Stud Earrings are currently up for grabs in a giveaway hosted by Rachel at All Things New!

These are one of my favorite pairs of stud earrings and have been one of my best sellers recently in my Etsy shop. The studs are incredibly glamorous but also simple enough to be worn for every day. They feature vintage Japanese gold plated rose cabochons set onto sterling silver posts. They are truly stunning!

And not only are my earrings up for grabs in the giveaway, the winner will also receive two bath & body products from Anita of Sweet Treat Your Body. Talk about an awesome giveaway! To enter simply visit my Etsy shop as well as Anita's and then leave a comment on Rachel's blog with your name and email address. The giveaway ends on Thursday, October 22nd at 11pm.

Good luck!

Treasury Feature

My Last Leaf Earrings are currently featured in a leaf themed treasury on Etsy.

As always, click to enlarge.

Don't you just love fall? I have been enjoying warm mugs of apple cider, homemade vanilla bean marshmallows and cozy stews. Last night I made a yummy Beef Stew and it completely satisfied my fall craving for something thick and hearty.

I love this recipe so much as it involves minimum work with maximum return. You just throw everything in your slow cooker, stir and forget about it--well, unless you're me and you work from home. I was tortured all day yesterday as I sat in my studio smelling this delicious stew simmering away across the house. Come 6 o'clock I was finished with my work day and my stew was ready and waiting for me. I threw together some store bought biscuits for dunking in the thick broth and the hubby and I had a perfectly cozy meal to enjoy as we watched this week's episode of Dexter.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew
adapted from All Recipes

serves 4

1 lb. beef stew meat
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon Worchestershire sauce
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 1/2 cups beef broth
2 large russet potatoes, diced
2 handfuls of baby carrots
2 bay leaves
1 package of McCormick's Beef Stew Seasoning*

1. Mix the flour, salt and pepper in the bottom of your slow cooker. Add the meat and stir to coat with flour mixture. Stir in the garlic, paprika, Worchestershire sauce, onion, beef broth, potatoes, carrots and McCormick's Beef Stew Seasoning (if using). Nestle in the bay leaves.

2. Cover, and cook on Low for 10 to 12 hours or on High for 4 to 6 hours. Serve.

I cooked mine on high for 5 hours and the potatoes and carrots were tender, but not falling apart.

*I added a package of McCormick's Beef Stew Seasoning per some suggestions on All Recipes; however, next time I will try it without as the stew had a bit too much seasoning. I think with using the beef broth and the seasonings in the recipe, the added Beef Stew Seasoning was a bit much.

New Necklaces in the Shop!

I have unfortunately been under the weather since Friday. I haven't been in the studio designing yet this week as I've been spending pretty much all day every day in bed recovering. Thankfully I was able to get some medicine today and I look forward to feeling better soon. I did muster up enough energy this evening to edit some photos I took on Friday and list a few new necklaces in the shop.

They are all available here. Make a purchase and cheer me up! :)

Updating the Shop

Yesterday I added these gorgeous stud earrings to the shop. The roses are vintage, they are plastic with a heavy silver plating. I just love their metallic shine! When I received them they were slightly tarnished from their age, but a little bit of silver polish and some elbow grease later and they are as bright and shining as ever! They have sterling silver posts and clutches and are absolutely perfect for everyday or a night out on the town.

They are totally show-stopping. Delicate but definitely large enough to get you noticed. The Glam Stud Earrings are up for sale in the shop.

I have also brought back The Beauty and the Beast Necklace. I offered one of these necklaces back in May and it sold the same day I listed it! Unfortunately I had a terrible time finding more of the animal print beads that I used in the design. I had ordered a whole slew of them from the supplier I got my original few from, but unfortunately they got lost in the post. Then, a few months later, I finally found them again and ordered as many as I could. I am so excited to be able to offer this design again. I fell in love with it when I created it. I love the feminine colors, but the slightly fierce, quirky addition from the animal print beads.

I only have a few currently available and am not sure if I will be able to offer this design again in the future. So, if you are smitten, act fast!
