Custom Orders Make Me Happy!

I fulfilled two custom orders this week. All the items will be used as Christmas presents which makes me exceedingly happy! My goal since I started designing for That Winsome Girl was to create unique, quality pieces which would perfect for gift giving or for passing down from generation to generation. As the holidays approach, I hope that many That Winsome Girl designs will be lovingly exchanged.

I love how simple and classic this Grecian Cameo necklace turned out.

This is a necklace I had designed for The Artists' Market I did this past summer here in Lexington. I originally made two necklaces and both sold the day they were debuted. I knew their quality (sterling silver and freshwater pearls) and classic elegance made them a hit. One of the ladies who bought one of the originals contacted me wanting to purchase three more to give as gifts. I was elated! I purchased quite a few of the pearl clusters and have offered the Cumulus necklace in my Etsy shop as well. I think they would make beautiful necklaces for bridesmaids. The chain is adjustable up to 18 inches, allowing the necklace to compliment a variety of necklines. And the extra length of chain dangles down the nape of your neck in the most gracefully sexy manner. Perfect for elegant updos!

Etsy Treasury

My Windmills and Picture Frames stud earrings from Hands in Pockets are currently featured in a beautiful treasury full of navy blues created by Bead Stylin'.

There I am in the top middle! I love the rich blues of the treasury.

My Windmills and Picture Frames stud earrings were created from vintage glass cabochons with Rembrandt-esque windmills. For these earrings I have paired the cabochons with unique vintage navy blue buttons (taken from my mother's button collection) to create the feel of a framed work of art!

A similar pair of stud earrings if found in my shop. My Like Rembrandt studs are crafted from the same vintage cabochons minus the buttons. They are an interesting pair of studs, perfect for everyday casual wear and are available for an unbeatable $3!

Shop Talk

I am in the process of streamlining my more casual Etsy shop, Hands in Pockets, to be more in line with the appearance of That Winsome Girl. While Hands in Pockets often features more of a quirky/colorful line, I am planning to start offering more affordable versions of my elegant line in the shop as well (i.e. brass versions of sterling silver or 14k gold-fill pieces). Over the next few weeks I will be retaking all my current item photos to have the same simple tablecloth background that I use in all my That Winsome Girl photos. While I like the colorfulness that the shop currently possesses, I think unifying the shop through a common background is a great technique of branding.

So there will be lots of changings ahead in the old shop as the new shop continues to grow and expand. I hope to have both the shops in tip top shape before the end of the month.

Two new listings, one in each shop:

Lady Bug stud earrings in Hands in Pockets for $6

Golden Rose stud earrings in That Winsome Girl for $18
